Tae Kwon Do History
The Tae Kwon Do of today is the modern product of martial arts and folk games developed over many centuries in Korea. While there is no doubt the three main East Asian countries of Korea, China and Japan all had their own indigenous martial arts, it is also quite likely that they shared much of their martial cultures with each other while maintaining the distinct flavor of their own country's culture. Tae Kwon Do is a Korean martial art involving kicking, blocking and striking and has truly transcended the place of its birth and become one of the most popular martial arts in the world.

As a student, you will be prepared to take all your tests by your instructors. As you rise in rank, your tests will become more difficult as more will be expected of you at each belt level increase.
SEASONAL TKD LESSONS
Tae Kwon Do knows no season. Is your child in a seasonal sports slump? Seasonal sports are fine; they encourage team work, positive reinforcement, exercise, eye-hand coordination development, and a fun environment for your child. Some parents like you are concerned that these sports are just that, seasonal. You know your child’s development and need for exercise don’t go into hibernation when the sports season ends. In fact, the winter months are when your child is in most need of exercise and development. They don’t have the additional outlets that the community pool or playing outside daily offer during the spring, summer, and fall. Your child also misses out on the continued focus that sports require of them.
At OMAA we recognize this, and regardless of the month, we are here to challenge your son or daughter through Tae Kwon Do training. Here at OMAA your child will be challenged through exercise and coordination development that both compliment their seasonal sport and builds on areas they are weak on. Plus, we know there’s more to your child’s growth than just exercise. Through your child’s instructor, the children hear age-appropriate discussions on drugs, goal setting, commitment, leadership, and even hygiene. They will also role-play on what to do if approached by a stranger or if home alone. All this while they're learning self-defense.
For $29.00 your child can have one private session with an instructor, a full Tae Kwon Do uniform and 1 weeks of classes. This gives your child an opportunity to see if he or she would like to begin WTF Tae Kwon Do. The sessions also give parents a chance to evaluate us and our teaching methods and to raise any concerns about their child.
